What we do
We built an automated system to track prices on the best tech gadgets and wearables. Every 6 hours, our pipeline checks prices, crunches numbers, and updates our recommendations — no human intervention required. Categories and products are dynamically curated based on what's actually trending right now, so you only see what matters.
How our scores work
DriftScore (0-100)
Our DriftScore is a "how good is this product overall?" number from 0-100. It's the weighted average of 6 dimensions we score every product on:
- Value for Money (25%)
- Performance (20%)
- Build Quality (20%)
- Ease of Use (15%)
- Daily Utility (10%)
- Compatibility (10%)
Higher is better. Each product page shows all dimension scores as a breakdown so you can see exactly where a product shines and where it falls short.
Price Signal
Our price signal helps you decide if now is the right time to buy. We watch price trends and compare to historical lows. "On sale" means we spotted a deal worth grabbing. "Fair price" means the price is reasonable. "Wait for discount" means the price is higher than usual and a drop is likely.
Guide rankings
Our guide pages rank every product by a single dimension — so the "Best value" guide shows products ranked purely by value score, while "Everyday essentials" ranks by daily utility. This lets you find exactly what matters to you without wading through products that don't fit your priorities.
Our data sources
We pull prices from major retailers and direct manufacturer stores. Product specs come straight from official product pages. Review scores are aggregated from leading publications. Everything is automated — no copy-paste from review sites, no "we updated this article" that actually just changed the date.
Editorial independence
Rankings are 100% algorithmic. No brand can buy a better score. Our scores come from data, not opinions — and you can see the exact breakdown on every product page.
Who we are
GizmoDrift is built and maintained by Ancient Blueprints, an independent product research studio focused on building transparent, data-driven buyer's guides. We combine automated data engineering with hands-on product knowledge to cut through marketing noise and deliver recommendations you can actually trust.
We don't accept sponsored placements or pay-to-rank deals. Every product earns its score through the same objective pipeline — no exceptions.
