Price Tracking: How We Monitor Prices

We track prices across multiple US retailers. Our system checks prices four times every day, 24/7.

Price Signals

Based on price history and trend analysis, every product gets a price signal:

  • On sale — Price dropped recently. Great time to buy.
  • Good price — Competitive price, no reason to wait.
  • Fair price — Normal price, nothing unusual.
  • Wait for discount — Price is elevated. A drop is likely coming.

We analyze short-term price swings, medium-term trends, volatility, and proximity to historical lows to generate these signals. No human opinion involved — purely algorithmic.

Independence and Transparency

GizmoDrift does not accept sponsored placements, paid reviews, or "featured" listings. Our scores are calculated algorithmically and cannot be purchased or influenced.

We may earn affiliate commissions when you click through to retailers and make a purchase. This does not affect our scores, rankings, or recommendations — the DriftScore algorithm has no input for "pays us money."

Data Sources and AI Disclosure

Our product data comes from multiple sources:

This site uses AI tools (including Claude and other language models) to assist with product research, description writing, and data analysis. All AI-generated content is reviewed for accuracy. Our scoring algorithms use publicly available product data, pricing, and specifications — we aggregate data from manufacturer specifications, community reviews, pricing data, and expert analysis to create comprehensive comparisons.

How Often Is Data Updated?

Prices are checked every 6 hours. Product scores are recalculated whenever new data is available. New products are discovered and added automatically through our AI-powered discovery pipeline.
